Paulette May Thompson

Paulette May Thompson, 81, of Eureka, Illinois, formerly of Metamora, passed away on March 9, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born on May 26, 1944, in Peoria to Wilbert J. “Hank” and Agatha M. (Reising) Grebner, Paulette married Bruce E. Thompson on August 7, 1965, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2020.

She is survived by her children, Amie (Derek Grow) Williams and Rob (Amy Shelton) Thompson, all of Portland, Oregon; her siblings, Dianna Spooner of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Leota “Lee” (Butch) Martin of Washington, Illinois, Becky Roese of Fort Worth, Texas, Roni (Steve) Killion of Peoria, Illinois, George (Deauna Collins) Grebner of East Peoria, Illinois, Cindy Erickson of Germantown Hills, Illinois, and Aron Grebner of Ashland City, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judith Boyer.

Paulette spent many years as a pediatrics office manager for Dr. Jon Byler and Dr. Scott Carlson in Washington, where she cherished her interactions with the children and their families. A longtime member of Christian Union Church in Metamora, she volunteered in the nursery and helped serve funeral meals. She also gave three years of service on the Metamora City Council and was a founder of the Metamora-Germantown Hills Junior Women’s League.
