January 6, 1934— March 10, 2026
Sherman, TX
Paula Goodson passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life marked by quiet strength, resilience, and deep devotion to those she cherished.
Paula shared a loving and devoted marriage with her husband, Larry Goodson. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and unwavering commitment. They raised three children in a home filled with care, laughter, and strong values. Paula took great pride in the family she and Larry created, and her love formed the foundation that held them together.
She gave endlessly of herself, often placing the needs of others before her own. Paula found joy in gardening, cooking, sewing, and hosting family and friends. She had a special fondness for shopping and always carried a natural eye for style. She loved to travel and spent many cherished summers camping at the lake with family. A lifelong lover of animals, she could never turn away one in need. Above all, she treasured her time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and held a special tenderness for babies.
The lessons Paula taught were lived rather than spoken. She showed those around her how to be kind, how to remain strong in difficult times, and how to care for family above all else. She demonstrated that true strength is often quiet, that sacrifice frequently goes unseen, and that the greatest gift one can offer is time and heart. She leaves behind a space that cannot be filled, yet the love, wisdom, and sacrifices she gave will remain with her family forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Kittrell and Erma Knight, her husband Larry Goodson, her brothers and sister Kenneth, Doyle, Sonny, Tommy, and Glenn Kittrell and Doris Jean Hodges, her granddaughter Kayla Majors, and her grandson Curtis Wampler.
Paula is survived by her sister Donna Kay Kirkpatrick, her son Robert Wampler and his wife Debbie, her son Dennis Goodson and Melinda Pratt, her daughter Dana Majors and her husband Mark, her grandchildren Misti, Jacque, Kody, Sean, Amanda, Larry, Kimberlee, and Matthew, eleven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry her memory forward.
