Paul Everett Weldon, age 84, of Montello and White Lake, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Randolph Health Services. Born in Stevens Point on February 13, 1942, to Ansel and Angie (Petersen) Weldon, Paul graduated from Amherst High School in 1960 before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country for four years.
In 1974, Paul married LuAnn Miller of Ripon in a ceremony at the Candlelight Chapel in Reno, Nevada. The couple spent 18 years living in the heart of the Redwoods in Redway, California, before returning to Wisconsin in 1993. They settled near Lake Wisconsin and built their retirement home on White Lake Drive in 2004. Throughout his life, Paul remained deeply involved in the communities where he lived. In California, he volunteered with the local fire department, served on his church board, was a member of the VFW, and was elected Kiwanis Lt. Governor for the CA/NV/Hawaii Division. In Wisconsin, he served as an active member and officer of the Portage Elks Club, American Legion Post #351 of Montello, and the Princeton VFW.
Paul worked as a millwright, sewer and water manager, real estate appraiser, and in maintenance for the USDA before retiring in 2000. He found great joy in collecting vintage beer signs, 45 records, CDs, and restoring older jukeboxes. An avid outdoorsman, he loved deer hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He especially cherished time spent with his 1950 Mercury and took memorable trips to Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, on various cruises, and to South Padre Island, Texas. For ten years, Paul volunteered at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, where he took veterans fishing on a pontoon boat, played cribbage, and assisted with bingo games. In his younger years, he loved dancing to rock and roll and singing karaoke.
Paul is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, LuAnn, and his children: Lance Weldon of Oregon, Gordon Young of Wautoma, and Dawn (Todd) Finley of Ripon. He is also survived by his grandson, Brandon (Katie) Mueller, great-grandchildren Madison, Maverick, and Mackenna Mueller, his sister Linda (Richard) Packer, brother-in-law Jim Bobbe, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Betty Bobbe, Barbara Pendergrass, Donna Harr, Louis Weldon, Sidney Weldon, Donald Weldon, and nephew Greg Weldon.
