Paul W. McConnell, born on October 5, 1930, in North Woodstock, Grafton, New Hampshire, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Creve Coeur, Missouri. A man of quiet strength and deep faith, he lived a life defined by service to his country, his family, and his community.

Paul honorably served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years, including during the Korean War. He later worked as a Technical Writer at Martin Marietta, where he produced essential technical manuals for aerospace and space technology. He continued his professional career with an 18-year tenure at ICS before serving 11 years in the United States Naval Reserves at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he taught electronics to recruits. Throughout his life, Paul remained committed to learning, pursuing additional education through ICS while balancing his military and professional responsibilities.

Deeply devoted to his faith, Paul was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the LDS Temples, volunteered at the church’s food bank, and officiated the Tops Club Inc. for senior adults, creating a warm space for companionship and exercise. His steady presence and generous spirit touched many lives.

He is survived by his children, Steven (Kate) McConnell, Michael (Judy) McConnell, Cheryl Huston, Erick (SunYoungYi) Shopher, Stephen (Amanda) Shopher, Christine (Terry) Wikoff, and Andrea (Scott) Shopher; his grandchildren, Kevin, Cassandra (Johnathon), Candice (Jr.), Tim (Amanda), Tabitha (Rory), Keith, Matthew (Autumn), Chana, and Crystal; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene McConnell, his second wife, Connie (Shopher) McConnell, his daughter Sharon Kirby, son-in-law Sam Kirby, and son-in-law Charlie Huston.
