Paul Tscherwenka, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on November 12, 1934, in Yugoslavia, he immigrated to the United States in 1959 and built a life rooted in hard work, family, and the traditions of his homeland.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Paul took great pride in his craftsmanship. He was known for his constant smile and warm personality, qualities that made everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated. Deeply proud of his German heritage, he enjoyed sharing his culture, stories, and traditions with family and friends. He found joy in dancing, traveling, and following his favorite sports, always embracing life with enthusiasm and a joyful spirit. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Opa.”
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marianne Tscherwenka; his parents, Elizabeth Cervenka and Paul Cervenka; and his brother, Michael Cherwenka.
Paul is survived by his loving children, Erich (Linda) Tscherwenka and Elaine Tscherwenka. He was a proud grandfather to Ellen, Kristin, and Stacy, and a cherished great-grandfather to Blake, Austin, Nathan, Owen, Eleanor, Molly, and Scarlett. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Paul leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strong work ethic, and the quiet joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
