Paul Scott Boyd

Paul Scott Boyd, born August 19, 1981, in Monroe, Michigan, passed away on March 11, 2026, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital at the age of 44.

Paul brought humor and competitive spirit to everything he did. He worked for several years at HSI, where his colleagues relied on his strong work ethic and quick wit. An avid athlete, he played competitive softball—earning the nickname “Oil Can”—as well as Ping-Pong, basketball, and golf. Family foosball tournaments often ended with him as the proud “RUG” runner-up, a title he carried with characteristic good humor.

Generous to a fault, Paul would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His infectious smile and talent for creating fitting nicknames left a lasting impression on everyone he met, producing countless stories that will be told for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jaime and Dawn Marie (Hennessey) Boyd, and his cherished grandparents. Paul is survived by his siblings, Jaime (Andrea) Boyd of Simi Valley, California, Sarah Boyd of Moreno Valley, California, Heather Boyd of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Jennifer Applegate; his loving girlfriend, Lauren Pfund; eight adored nieces and nephews, Jaylynn, Alexus, Alyce, Amari, Ava, Axel, Leo, and Renn; and his beloved dog, Duke, and cat, Sissy. He will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
