Passed March 6, 2026
Painesville, OH
Paul James “Jim” Greig, born June 2, 1927, in Painesville, Ohio, to Roy A. and Irene A. Greig, passed away on March 6, 2026. A proud graduate of Fairport Harding High School, Jim served in the United States Navy at the close of World War II before returning home to build a life centered on family and farming. For many years he worked as a dairy farmer and remained deeply committed to the agricultural community, serving on the Dairy Board of Lake County, the Farm Home Administration, and through his active involvement in the Ohio Dairyman’s Association.
Jim was a devoted husband to his late wife, Mary, and a loving father to his children, Ann (the late Rich) Spuller, Roy (Julie) Greig, and John (Kim) Greig. He cherished his grandchildren—Aimee Spuller, Matthew (Jenn) Greig, Eric (Laura) Greig, Justin Spuller, Daniel (Ellyn Mitchell) Greig, Nycholas (Stephanie) Greig, Ben (Jenna) Greig, and Zachary Greig—and his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Connor, Eleanor, Louisa, Lydia, Riley, and Henry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Riley, Betty Stricker, and Robert Greig.
Those who knew him will remember a man whose quiet strength, integrity, and lifelong dedication to family and farming left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
