Paul Edward Stone

Paul Edward Stone, 97, of Vienna, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Born on December 12, 1928, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Kyle and Barbara Stone, Paul was raised in Norfolk, Virginia. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country with distinction for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He then continued his public service as a federal security guard for another 26 years. In addition, he operated Stone’s Tax Service for many years, assisting countless individuals with their taxes until he finally stepped away at the age of 95.

Paul was a longtime member of Summit Valley United Methodist Church and the Williamstown Lions Club, where his commitment to community service, particularly the Sight Fund, remained a meaningful part of his life.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Kayla Bouchard, and her husband, Jesse, who lived with and cared for him in his final years; his son, Paul Stone Jr. of Merritt Island, Florida; his stepson, Mark Riffle and his wife Denese of Jacksonville, Florida; grandsons Nathan Riffle and Kyle Riffle; son-in-law Frank Giberson of Parkersburg; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Stone; his daughter, Lisa Giberson; and his brothers, Charles Stone and Everett Stone.
