Fortin, 85, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2026, following a lengthy illness. His loving wife of 44 years, Sarah, was by his side.Paul was born on September 23, 1940, in Wakefield, Rhode Island, to the late Alfred and Avelina (Roy) Fortin. He was raised and educated in Rhode Island. Following high school, he went to work for Delta Airlines, where he remained for his entire career. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era.Paul later became a long-time resident of Derry, where he lived for many years before retiring and relocating to Kissimmee, FL, in 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed the warmer climate and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. He especially looked forward to his annual trips to New Hampshire, where he cherished time with loved ones and relaxing at his vacation condominium in North Conway.Those who knew Paul will remember him for his quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to the people he loved. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.Paul was father to the late Paul Fortin, Jr. and wife Carina Fortin of Cartersville, GA, Melanie Fortin and her wife Teresa Balon of Dekalb, IL, Bob Josephson and his wife Julie of Merrimack, NH, Lynne Nation and her husband David of Palm Coast, FL, Richard Josephson and his wife Jennifer of Derry, NH, Kevin Josephson and his wife Melinda of Derry, NH, and the late Christopher Josephson of Manchester. He was also the proud grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 11, including the late Alyssa Josephson.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Graveside services with military honors will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 12:00pm at the NH State Veteran's Cemetery, Route 3, Boscawen, NH.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
