Paul Blasing ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 9, 2026.Paul Broderius Blasing passed away at the age of 82 while being surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Eagan, Minnesota.Paul was born on November 17th, 1943. He was married to his wife, Joan for over 45 years. He attended Lake Crystal public schools. After graduating from high school, Paul proudly served his country in the Navy. After his service in the Navy, Paul began a long and dedicated career with the Minnesota State Patrol. During his service, Paul was honored to serve on the executive security team for multiple governors. In this role, he had the unique opportunity to travel the world and meet many high-ranking government officials, athletes, and celebrities.Paul had a passion for collecting carnival chalkware and antiques. He always appreciates the history and stories behind each piece. When he wasn't visiting his beloved hometown of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, he could often be found playing cards and sharing laughs with friends at the local Legion.Family meant everything to Paul. He adored and spoiled his grandchildren. Paul took great joy in spending time with them. He also cherished visits with relatives and friends in Arizona and Louisiana. Paul was generous at heart and proudly supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Paul will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandparent, uncle, and friend whose kindness, stories, and presence brought joy to those around him.Paul is preceded in death by parents, Lester and Helen, his wife Joan, his brothers, Keith, Kenneth, Donald, John and Paul's twin sister who passed at birth. He is survived by his three children, Elizabeth, Mary and Michael, their family, his beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th at 3:30-5:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Easter (Lake) Lutheran Church 4545 Pilot Knob Rd in Eagan, Minnesota.
