Paul Anthony Zabodyn, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on July 22, 1963, in Norwich, Connecticut, he was the beloved son of Jefferson and Margaret McGinn Zabodyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Michael Zabodyn, James “Jimmy” Zabodyn, and Marian Seiber, as well as his brother-in-law James Lawrence.
Paul shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Laura (Emigh) Zabodyn, his steadfast partner through every chapter of life. Together they raised their daughter, Jessica (Katannyi) Pettigrew, who filled their hearts with pride and joy. He leaves behind his grandson, Kaleb Pettigrew, whose future he viewed with deep affection and hope. His surviving sisters, Margaret “Peggy” (Richard) Leichty, Patricia “Pat” (Vic) Carlstrom, and Nancy Lawrence, along with his sister-in-law Judy Zabodyn, will remember his unwavering support and thoughtful counsel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A proud member of the Moose Lodge in Asheville, North Carolina, Paul valued the camaraderie and friendships he found there. Yet nothing meant more to him than the simple, everyday moments spent with his family.
