He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Johnson and Lela Johnson; his grandson Jody West; and his siblings, William Henry Johnson, Frances Hardy, Dorothy Hill Combe and Donald Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Robinson Johnson; his daughters, Lorie Rollins (Charles) of Nashville, NC and Patti West (Scott) of Williamston, NC.; his grandchildren, Maggie Carter (Chris) of Louisburg, NC, Justin Rollins (Holly) of Ayden, NC, Cole West (Caroline) of Greenville, NC and Libbi Beach (Brandon) of Washington, NC.; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Lane, Noah Carter, Allie, Sydney and Jack Rollins; and his sister Lucy Allen (Stan) of Madison, MS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (109 W Church St, Williamston, NC 27892).
