Patsy Sue Becker

1942 — 2026

Sandwich, IL

Patsy Sue Becker passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her children. Born on May 30, 1942, in Corning, Arkansas, to John and Lela Pounds, she moved to Aurora, Illinois, at a young age and spent much of her life in the surrounding area.

Patsy married the love of her life, Herbert Becker, and together they created a warm and loving home for their family. In 1991, they retired to Nancy, Kentucky, where they cherished the scenic beauty of Lake Cumberland. Their home became a welcoming gathering place for friends and family. Patsy returned to Illinois in 2007 and lived in Sandwich for the past thirteen years.

An avid quilter, Patsy was a longtime member of the Kalico Kwilters in Yorkville, Illinois, where she found deep joy in her craft and the friendships it brought. Her quilts, made with care and vibrant color, reflected her generous spirit. She had a natural gift for caring for others, serving as a caregiver in her later years and always placing family first. A devoted member of Cornerstone Church in Sandwich, she found great meaning in volunteering at the church’s food pantry, where her faith found expression through quiet, consistent generosity.

Patsy will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and steadfast love. She is survived by her son, David (Kellie) Blankenship of Sugar Grove, Illinois; three daughters, Debra Sizemore of Florence, Kentucky, Connie (Jeff) Palmer of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Vickie (Mike) White of Sheridan, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Holder of Aurora, Illinois, and Joyce Smith of Henry, Illinois; two brothers, Donald (Linda) Pounds of Montgomery, Illinois, and Bill (Joyce) Pounds of Carthage, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Becker; her parents, Reverend John and Lela Pounds; three sisters, Rosalie Miller, Ella Williams, and Shirley Niswonger; and two brothers, John Pounds Jr. and Harvey Pounds.
