Patrick L. Martinez

March 17, 1963 March 11, 2026

Cheyenne, WY

Patrick L. Martinez, 62, of Cheyenne, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on March 17, 1963, in Cheyenne to Jose E. and Eulalia Garcia Martinez, he earned an associate’s degree from Laramie County Community College. Patrick dedicated 37 years to the State of Wyoming Department of Transportation as an Asphalt Lab Technician and Assistant Lab Supervisor before retiring in 2022.

He carried the most infectious smile and was known for his constant good humor, kind heart, humility, and unwavering integrity. Patrick cherished time with his family, especially his children, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He looked forward each week to Friday night dinners with his mother, Eulalia, who prepared his favorite dishes. He loved calling longtime friends to reminisce, conversations that often stretched for hours.

Patrick found great joy on the golf course with his buddies Ron, Howard, Romo, Chuck, LeRoy, Jay, his son Cody, and many other family members and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, particularly when his children were young. Holidays brought him special pleasure as he played poker with his family, and he was deeply devoted to fantasy football, spending considerable time each season carefully building his roster in pursuit of league championships.

Patrick is survived by his mother, Eulalia Lucero; daughter Vera Martinez; son Cody (Hannah) Overberg; step-daughter Holly and her children Jesse and Shelbylynn Wright; sisters Eleanor (Mike) Lujan, Bernice Gregorio, Doris (Marc) Martinez, Jeanette (Leroy) Espinoza, and Maria (Rusty) Simental; brother Albert (MaryAnn) Martinez; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose E. Martinez; brother Danny Martinez; and sister Debbie Esquibel.
