February 28, 1968— March 6, 2026
North Richland Hills, TX
Patrick Clyde Shahan, 58, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by his wife Jennifer, daughter Liv, grandson Zeppelin, and his beloved dogs Dave, Mika, and Esme. A cherished husband, father, uncle, son, friend, and—to his great delight—“Pops,” he touched many lives with his genuine spirit and kindness and will be deeply missed.
Born on February 28, 1968, in Oak Cliff, Texas, Patrick was the fifth of six children. From an early age he loved playing baseball with his father, younger brother, and friends, many of whom he met in middle school and kept close for the rest of his life. He graduated from Desoto High School in 1986. After high school he worked as a supervisor at Payless Cashways, where he met Jennifer in 1988. Recognizing her as the love of his life, he proposed and they married on March 18, 1989. Their 37-year marriage remained the center of his world and his greatest source of pride.
Patrick earned a degree in business management from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was respected across several teams before joining Metaltech Omega in 2013, where he served as National Sales Director. He was also a beloved umpire in the DFW Softball community. An avid baseball fan, he enjoyed visiting ballparks wherever he traveled. In his free time he loved umpiring, watching the Cowboys or Rangers, listening to music, and attending concerts. Above all, he cherished quiet moments with Jennifer—whether traveling to vineyards across the country, sipping wine on the patio, or simply watching a show together. A devoted follower of Christ, Patrick remained steadfast in his faith through both joyful and difficult times, using his testimony to encourage others.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Shahan, his daughter, Olivia Shahan, his grandson, Zeppelin Shahan, his siblings, many nieces and nephews, and friends who were like family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurine and Clyde Shahan.
