August 2, 1930— March 13, 2026
Lefors, TX
Patricia “Pat” Youngblood, 95, of Lefors, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 in Lefors.
Born on August 2, 1930 to Arthur and Bertie Henry, Pat met her husband Harry Youngblood while attending Abilene Christian University. They married on November 19, 1949 and shared 37 years together before his death in 1986. After graduation, the couple lived in Perryton and Stinnett, where Pat worked as a high school librarian and editor of the Hutchinson County Herald. In 1965, they moved their family to Lefors to live on the ranch her grandparents had homesteaded in 1892.
Pat was deeply involved in her community, belonging to PEO, Beta Sigma Phi, the DAR, and the National Cattlemen’s Association. She supported 4-H and FFA activities and served on state boards for the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs, Texas Cattle Women, the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, and the Foundation Board of Clarendon College. She cherished traveling to South Fork, Colorado and along the Rio Grande River, but found her greatest joy in the outdoors and spending time on the ranch with her children and grandchildren. Her hard work and dedication to the family ranch left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Youngblood, and her son Harry “Skipper” Youngblood III.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Cynde Howell and husband Bob Crosostomo of Lefors, and Sally Shelton and husband Hugh of Hereford; seven grandchildren, Phillip Shelton, Dakota Shelton, Matthew Howell and wife Amy, Kristin Chayer and husband Jeff, Dottie Ulrich and husband Jason, Amanda Farquhar and husband Kyle, and Stacie Tosh and husband Grant; six great-grandchildren, Cayson Howell, Chesney Howell, Claire Chayer, Caitlin Chayer, Avaleigh Tosh, and Carleigh Tosh; her brother Jim Henry of Perryton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
