June 10, 1944— March 2, 2026
Patricia Mary Thiele, born June 10, 1944, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 2, 2026.
Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Jeannette Heffner and Robert B. Heffner. She is survived by her devoted adopted sister, Ruth Slachter; her cousins William King III, Monica Moree, Janice Moree, and Gary Moree; and her cousin-in-law, Dyann Moree. She is predeceased by her beloved cousins, Teresa Moree and Ronald Moree.
Patricia dedicated more than 40 years of her life to her work as a beautician. She began her career at Stewart’s and Hutzler’s department stores and later spent many years at Perfect Touch Salon, where she built lasting relationships with clients who became like family. Even after her retirement, Pat continued cutting and perming hair at her mother’s home into the early 1990s, a testament to her passion for her craft and her love of serving others.
A devoted history enthusiast, Patricia was the family historian. She created detailed and intricate family trees, carefully documenting generations and sharing them widely so that every relative could understand and appreciate their roots. She felt especially connected to her family’s French heritage and embraced the culture with pride.
Pat loved to entertain. Whether she was preparing delicious meals for family gatherings or delighting everyone with lip-sync performances to her favorite artist, Barbra Streisand, she brought joy and laughter wherever she went. She was a generous and philanthropic woman who quietly supported numerous charitable organizations throughout her life.
Raised in the Catholic faith, Patricia attended St. Agnes Church, where she participated in trips and retreats that were meaningful to her spiritual journey.
Patricia also had a deep love of travel and adventure. As a young woman, she and her adopted sister Ruth once famously climbed out a window to escape to Ocean City for a spontaneous trip. In later years, her travels took her farther afield, including time spent in France, and on the island of Sint Marteen, where she praised how Captain Hodge danced and how much she adored Bobby and his love for Teresa as his step-daughter.
These experiences reflected her adventurous spirit and love of culture, and most of all, family.
Patricia will be remembered for her generosity, intelligence, straight-shooting humor and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the stories she preserved, the meals she shared, the beauty she created, and the love she gave so freely.
