Patricia Shemancik ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. on Mar. 3, 2026.Patricia (Patti) Lee (Goral) Shemancik, 86, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 28, 2026.Born on September 16, 1939, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Patti was the daughter of Anthony and Minnie (Groscost) Goral. She graduated with honors from Sharpsville High School, Class of 1957.Patti was a longtime resident of Hermitage and dedicated many years of service as a secretary for several local businesses beginning with Westinghouse in the 1960's. She concluded her career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Corrections Department at the Mercer County Correctional Facility, where she retired and where her husband also had worked.She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-working in her yard, exploring garage sales, mowing the lawn on her tractor, and baking her famous apple pies and nut rolls, which she generously shared with family and friends. Patti treasured time spent with her family and her beloved dogs. She loved sitting outside on summer days on her porch swing and visiting with family and friends. She was known for her care of animals and fed stray cats, birds, and squirrels that were drawn to her yard and house for comfort. She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion, and the love she poured into her home and yard and those around her.Patti was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Shemancik; her former husband, Carl Havrilla; three sisters, Shirley Cusick, Elizabeth (Betty) Buccino, and Stephanie (Stevie) Kizak; and her brother, Anthony (Sonny) Goral.She is survived by her loving children, Debra (Havrilla) Fitzsimons and her husband, Shawn, of Conneaut Lake, PA, and Daniel Havrilla and his husband, Paul, of Mill Hall, PA; her stepchildren, Mike Shemancik, Jr. of Wilmington, NC and wife, Robin, and Tammie Kelly of Raleigh, NC; and Patti's cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren, Logan, Luke, Kendall, Greyson, and Noelle. She is also survived by her sister, Cecelia Jean Cameron of Hermitage, and her brother, Raymond Goral and his wife, Carrie, of Masury. Patti was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, PA for many years and attended the Resurrection Episcopal Church of Hermitage.Patti will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.A celebration of life will be held at Sharon Elks Lodge Post 103 located at 260 E Connelly Blvd, Sharon, PA 16146.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
