Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Patricia Monroe (Clifton Forge, Virginia), who passed away at the age of 89, on March 7, 2026. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Dana Zicafoose and Zella Jane Hayes Zicafoose; her husband James L. "Buck" Monroe, Jr.; and her sisters, Barbara Johnson and Kathryn Thurston.

She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Monroe Martin (Ken) of Covington, James L. Monroe III (Tammy) of Woodlawn, Edward L. Monroe (Anne) of Courtland, OH, Kenneth A. Monroe of Benson, NC and David N. Monroe (Rheta) of Winston-Salem, NC; her brother Dan Zicafoose of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Nicole Simmons, Aaron Simmons, James L. Monroe IV, Dakota Shockley, Kenna Lassiter, Paul Monroe, Laurel Proser and Isabella Moore; and her great grandchildren, Dalton, Lexi, Paisley, Genevieve, Raylin, Thomas, Emmalynn and Winter. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home (405 Alleghany St, Clifton Forge, VA 24422). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
