Patricia Marek

Patricia “Patty Lou” Marek passed away peacefully at her home in Alpena, Michigan, on March 11, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on December 17, 1945, to Calvin and Rhea (Rankin) McKinnon, Patty was a proud graduate of the Flint School for the Deaf. She found deep joy in gathering her family together and preparing her family’s famous coleslaw for every occasion. A daily crossword puzzle offered her quiet challenge, while her home brimmed with cuddly teddy bears that mirrored her gentle and affectionate spirit.

Patty is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Randy Marek; her three cherished children and their spouses, Scott (Jennifer) Senchuk, Joe (Autumn) Senchuk, and Violet (Rick) Sanchez; seven beloved grandchildren, Brandy Senchuk, Devin Senchuk, Dan Senchuk, Jesse Pad, Tasha Sanchez, Santos Sanchez, and Michael Sanchez; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and the close-knit neighbors in her small-town community who knew her kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Oliveen Marek, and two grandchildren, Cody Senchuk and Anthony Dewberry. Patty’s love for her family and her warm smile will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
