Patricia Hildenbrandt ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Adamson Life Celebration Home on Mar. 6, 2026.Patricia Lee Hildenbrandt, 87, passed away at home in Windsor on March 5, 2026, just as she wished to.Patti was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Greeley. She grew up as the middle of three sisters in Platteville, where she attended school, graduating from PHS in 1956, where she was active in band, MYF and 4H. After graduation, Patti attended what was then Colorado Teacher's College, majoring in Home Economics. She married James C. Hildenbrandt in 1958 after seeing him at the Greeley swimming pool one afternoon in 1957. Patti excelled in all of the domestic arts, and enjoyed meal preparation, sewing and especially creating and maintaining beautiful yards and gardens everywhere she lived. Patti was independent in a time when many women weren't. When her husband was travelling, she and her children Kathy and Les had many adventures. She later revealed that she never locked her doors in those years because she just wasn't worried. Her father told her she could do anything, so she did.Her children will always remember her referring to herself as Pope Patti the Pious because she wanted them to believe that she was infallible. After the children left home, Patti and Jim enjoyed camping club, square dancing, and making her yard ideas come to fruition. She worked as a manager for House of Fabrics for several years, then found her calling working for World Savings in the Lakewood and Applewood branches, where she made many close friends. What made Patti happiest, though, was her role as Granny to Mandee, Andrea, Emily and Craig. Granny was always up for adventure, and her grandchildren had many with her.Patti was proceeded in death by her husband Jim, parents Conrad and Mary Walter, brother-in-law Dr. Dick Lew, brother-in-law Don Simms and sister-in-law Joan Hildenbrandt and nephew Brian Hildenbrandt. She is survived by son Les Hildenbrandt and wife Ledis of Windsor, daughter Kathy Good and husband George of Sterling, grandchildren Mandee (Jess), Andrea (Chris), Emily and Craig and great-grandchildren Annaliese and Adaline, sisters Louise Simms and Carol Lew, beloved brother-in-law Doug Hildenbrandt and numerous nieces and nephews.A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., in Adamson Life Celebration Funeral Home.Services for Patti will be held at Adamson Life Care Center in Greeley on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at Adamson Life Celebration.
