Grants Pass, OR

CAMERON, Patricia Lee (Snodgrass) - Pat passed away in Grants Pass, OR on March 8, 2026.

Pat was born on December 9, 1939 in Oroville, CA.

In 1944, Pat moved to Petaluma, CA with her family: father, Harold B. Snodgrass (1908-1982), mother, Ruth E. (Gillmer) Snodgrass (1915-1995), older sister, Elizabeth (Snodgrass) Schwartz (1935-1977), and younger sister, Janet Snodgrass.

Pat graduated from Petaluma High School in 1957 and entered Stanford University later that year. She attended Stanford University for one year and then left college to marry Rodney L. Cameron (1935-2007) and raise a family: Michael H. Cameron (1959-1980), Eileen M. (Cameron) Massa, Sandra L. (Cameron) Wood, Rhonda E. (Cameron) Kaufmann, and Richard J. Cameron.

Pat operated an in-home day care when her children were young and volunteered as a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, and was active in the PTA. She and her family hosted a Muscular Dystrophy Association fund-raising carnival annually for several years.

In addition to her love of children, Pat enjoyed sewing, a skill she taught herself, and was an excellent seamstress. She made Halloween costumes, stuffed animals, wedding dresses, and most of her children's clothing. She appeared in a Petaluma Community Theater production of The Wizard of Oz as Auntie Em (with her son, Mike, as Coroner, her daughters, Sandy and Rhonda as members of the Lullaby League, and her daughter, Eileen, as a munchkin). She also appeared in Guys & Dolls and Arsenic & Old Lace. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Golden West Singers.

When her children were older, she worked at Petaluma Jr High School in the main office and then for the Hospital District Foundation in Petaluma.

After Pat and Rod divorced in 1981, she returned to college to complete her education. She attended Sonoma State University where she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Psychology on June 4, 1986. She then attended the University of San Francisco where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in Counseling on May 20, 1988. She also obtained a teaching credential.

Pat was employed as a Counselor at a youth home in Ukiah, CA, a Social Worker for the County of Marin in San Rafael, CA, and a Case Manager for a foster care agency in Chico, CA. After retiring, she served as a Foster Grandparent at an elementary school.

Pat moved from Chico, CA to Grants Pass, OR in October of 2023, where she remained until her death.

Pat is survived by her children: Eileen (Rob) Massa of Santa Rosa, CA, Sandra Wood of Eureka, CA, Rhonda (Mark) Kaufmann of Selma, OR, and Richard Cameron of Chico, CA, her grandchildren: Courtney Kretz-Massa, Brian Massa, Jayme Wood, James Wood, Jonathan Wood, Sienna Kaufmann, Cierra Cameron, and Robert Cameron, her great grandchildren: Kylie Massa, Luke Massa, Alice Kaufmann, Caius Kaufmann, River Kaufmann, Adrianna Horn, and Nevaeh Cameron-Horn, and her sister, Janet Snodgrass.
