February 3, 1934— March 1, 2026
Moorhead, MN
Patricia L. Bode, 92, of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Bethany On University in Fargo, North Dakota.
Born Patricia Lee Sinclair on February 3, 1934, in Jamestown, North Dakota, she was the youngest of five children of Robert and Isabel Ackerman Sinclair. Pat spent her early years in Jamestown and Valley City, working as an aide in the Jamestown Hospital Nursery and later as a nursing assistant at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. On June 26, 1965, in Valley City, she married Glenn Bode, bringing with her four children—Judy, Vickie, Lori, and Jim. The couple later welcomed two more children, Lisa and Todd. Together they made their home in Valley City before moving to Roseau, Minnesota, in 1968, Fosston in 1996, and Moorhead in 2013.
In addition to raising her own family, Pat operated a licensed home-based childcare and foster care in Roseau, nurturing dozens of children over the years and following their lives with genuine interest long afterward. She was a firm yet loving disciplinarian, an exceptional cook from scratch, and a gifted seamstress and crocheter. Her hands created tablecloths, christening gowns, afghans, school clothes, prom and bridesmaid dresses, a bridal gown, and even a leisure suit for Glenn. Her talents earned her several grand champion ribbons at the Roseau County Fair. Pat managed the household budget with skill, though her love of antique collecting often tested those boundaries.
Pat bravely survived breast cancer in 2016 before facing a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease and vascular dementia. Even as her memories faded, her strong spirit endured, surrounded by the love of her family until the end. She is survived by her husband Glenn; her children Judy Stinnett of Phoenix, Arizona, Vickie Jackson of Green Valley, Arizona, Lori (Kean) Beito of Roseau, James (Mery) Berg of Roseau, Lisa Bode of Moorhead, and Todd (Jamie) Bode of Richfield; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Beito-Ziemer, Brian Stinnett, Jamie Stinnett, Garrett (Bethany) Berg, Gavinn (Charlene) Berg, and Jillian (Corey Ward) Vatnsdal; and nine great-grandchildren, Jaedyn, Evan, Emery, Hannah, Ayla, Chesney, Kohlter, Emily, and James. She is also survived by Glenn’s siblings, David Bode, Hazel (Gary) Hareland, Arvid (Darlyne) Bode, and Ruthie Bode, along with many nieces and nephews. Her beloved cat Dolly Blue and grand-dog Tuesday will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Memrey Beyer, Marlys Vindhurst, Robert Sinclair, and Donna Osborne; Glenn’s parents, Walter and Leeta Bode; and his sister, Deloris Selland.
