Patricia Gland ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Homes - Chesterton Chapel on Mar. 16, 2026.Patricia (Pat) Joanne Gland, age 93, of Chesterton, Indiana, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Chesterton, Indiana. She was born on August 10, 1932, in Gary, Indiana, to Charles and Dorothy (Burns) Gard.Pat was a Chesterton High School graduate. She was married to her husband Jack for 63 years before his passing in 2016. Pat was a bus driver for Duneland Schools for 39 years. She especially loved driving the gymnastics teams, swimming teams and marching band. Pat also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at various nursing homes coordinating activities. She had an extensive social network in the area and was always willing to share a smile and conversation. Pat touched many lives with her generous spirit and thoughtful nature. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children the value of family, tradition and love. She was a remarkable woman and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.Pat is survived by her children, Mark (Donna) Gland, Karen (Bob) Cunningham, Tim (Gabriele) Gland, Beth Grundell, Matthew (Jessica) Gland and Kelly (Craig) O'Brien; grandchildren, Joseph (Jenny) Grundell, Alicia Grundell, Jacob Gland, Nathan (Carly) Gland, Zachary (Courtney Cassoday) Cunningham, Alexandra (Randy) Smith, Cameron O'Brien; great-grandchildren, Kyler Grundell, Blaze Grundell, Kamdyn Cunningham, Owen Cunningham, Claire Gland, Jackson Gland and Harper Gland and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Gard, William Gard, Richard Gard and granddaughter, Nicole Gland.The family would like to give special thanks to VNA Hospice and caregivers, Sharon, Jackie and Michelle.Private Services will be held and a public Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a future date.
