Patricia Hester

Patricia Hester, born on April 21, 1951 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Paul and Patsy Hester, passed away on February 25, 2026 at the age of 74. The oldest of five sisters, she graduated from Del City High School before moving to Tacoma, Washington to live with family. There she worked at a movie theater before returning to Oklahoma City, where she built a long career in daycare. She spent many years nurturing and shaping young lives, and even in retirement she never stopped loving and caring for children.

Patricia embraced life with energy and joy. She loved playing darts, singing karaoke, watching wrestling and football—especially OU—coloring her hair in bright shades, and going out to new places. She cherished time with family and friends, always preferring movement and laughter over sitting still. She found delight in the noise, the chaos, and especially the hugs that filled her days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Patsy Hester; her daughter Skye, who was stillborn; Rusty Roach, the love of her life; and her beloved niece, Marci Cooper. Patricia is survived by her daughters Toby and Codi (Tim), grandchildren Zachary (Selena), Brooklyn (Michael), Blaze (Bre), Zoey, Braxton, and Kynleigh, sisters Vickie (Larry), Paul Ann (Tim), Johnnie, and Peggy (Rick), as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends she considered family. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, bold style, fearless performances, and a lasting reminder to live fully and never act your age unless absolutely necessary.
