She was born on June 28, 1924, in Mankato, MNPatti is predeceased by her parents Dell and Mary Murphy, brothers Bill, Joe, Dutch and Francis. She is survived by her sons Gerry and Chris Chambliss, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.Patti really lived a big life - entering the US Navy Nurse Cadet Corps in 1943, and serving from St. Albans Naval Hospital (NYC), to Camp Lejeune (NC), to sea duty on the USS President Hayes, to Mare Island (CA), to Gunter AFB (AL), to Moffet Field (CA), to Hickam Field-Pearl Harbor (HI). Patti flew Medevac flights in the Pacific/Far East, including Occupied Japan, the Philippines, and Guam.Patti lived for 11 years in Venezuela before migrating to New Smyrna in late 1968. Joined the Smyrna Yacht Club and later became a Vice Commodore. She was the oldest and longest member. Patti also followed her love for Duplicate Bridge, becoming an ACBL Teacher and Life Master. She taught Bridge at the Coronado Community Center for about 40 years and was a member of the Daytona Municipal Bridge Club and the Smyrna Bridge Club. She also enjoyed her time and travels as Bridge Director on many Caribbean cruises.She ran a tight ship!Funeral Mass will be held in NSB at Our Lady Star of the Sea on Wednesday, March 25th at 11:00AM. There will be a reception immediately afterward in the adjacent center.Interment of Ashes will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater at 1:30PM in the Veterans Section.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
