Patricia Anne "Patty" Nielsen

Patricia “Patty” Anne Nielsen, 83, of Solon, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 27, 1942, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Archie Dee and Martha Jeanne (Durall) Adkins, Pat graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1960. She first married Marion “Mac” Mosley, with whom she had two children, Ray and Kim. Later in life she married Dick Nielsen and then Jerry Carr, both of whom preceded her in death.

For many years Pat worked for Linn County Conservation until her retirement. She loved the outdoors and found joy in golfing, camping, and fishing, often with an ice-cold Coors in hand. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

Pat is survived by her children, Ray (Theresa) Meeks-Mosley of Iowa City and Kim Kriz (Tom Maynard) of Solon; nine grandchildren, Amanda Mosley (Matt), Amber Mosley (Matt), Katie Mosley (Andrew), Maddie Huls (Cody), Hanna Mosley (Alex), Haley Mosley, Nico Meeks-Mosley, Cody Mosley (Jonas), and Kaylee Walker; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Elmer, Alina, Bear, Lana, Tay, Lennox, and Lincoln; and one cousin, William “Bill” (Maureen) Durall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Etoll, and her dear cousin Charlene Miller.
