Knightdale, NC
Patricia Anna D’Antonio, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, just fifteen days after the death of her beloved husband and lifelong partner, Frank D’Antonio. The couple, who had shared a deep and enduring love since their youth, were reunited for eternity.
Born on June 16, 1946, in Queens, New York City, to Anthony and Clara Gagliardo, Pat grew up attending St. Clement Pope School and graduated from West Babylon High School in just three years. She often recalled her school days with the strict nuns and cherished the lifelong friendships she formed with Annabelle Vecchione D’Angelo and Kathy Notturno Olencki. She met Frank through her brother Bob at a baseball field when he returned her lost wallet, and she knew immediately that he would be the love of her life. They married in 1964 and began their life together on Long Island before moving to the Adirondacks in 1974, where Pat’s parents soon joined them in the same neighborhood. Those years were filled with mountain and lake outings, camping trips, bowling nights, and countless family gatherings. Later, Pat and Frank moved to the warm climate of Florida’s west coast and eventually settled in North Carolina, their final home.
Pat was known for her fierce and protective spirit. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she loved to cook and preserved many of the family’s treasured recipes. Together with Frank, she raised two children and nearly two dozen beloved dogs and other pets, several of whom, per their wishes, will rest with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Cuoccio (Frank); her son, Michael D’Antonio (Jackie); four grandchildren, Frank Cuoccio (Haley), Mike Cuoccio (Maria), Marissa D’Antonio, and Gianna D’Antonio; and four great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Charlotte, Milania, and Sophia, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles “Chap” D’Antonio; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Peters; her stepmother-in-law, Mary D’Antonio; her brother, Robert “Gig” Gagliardo; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Gagliardo.
