She was born on October 3, 1932, in Jacksonville to Mashburn and Yvette (White) Ragan.A dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Sumpter, poured her heart and soul into her family and her home. She was a loving mother to two sons, and grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them. Her warm spirit and commitment to her family reflected her deep-rooted values and her strong Baptist faith, which were integral parts of her life.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband William C "Bill" Sumpter in 2009, her son William Kenneth "Kenny" Sumpter in 1973, and her grandson Skyler Sumpter in 2012.Her survivors are her sons Russell "Rusty" Sumpter (Susie) of Keystone Heights and Scott Sumpter (Marta) of Belleview.A Memorial Service for Mrs. Sumpter will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tom Tyer officiating.Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E.
