Patricia A. Kennedy

Easthampton, MA

Patricia A. (Pepin) Kennedy, 91, of Easthampton, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Linda Manor in Northampton. Born in Northampton on April 15, 1934, to Herve and Dorothy (Clapp) Pepin, Patti grew up in Easthampton, graduated from Easthampton High School, and earned a B.S. in Education from Westfield State College. In 1957 she married her soulmate, George F. Kennedy, Jr., and together they shared more than fifty loving years.

Patti taught primary education in the Lexington school system before returning to the Easthampton public schools. She and George raised their family there with boundless love and devotion. For the final twenty-five years of her career, she served as director of the Wee Care Nursery School at the Easthampton Congregational Church, where she was an active member and volunteered countless hours. Deeply committed to her community, she belonged to the Helping Hand Society and the local Jayceettes, and she and George were steadfast supporters of the Easthampton Hockey Association. Many will remember Patti alongside Ruth and Babe at the coffee table at the Williston Rink.

Family was the center of Patti’s world. She and George cherished vacations in Wells and Goose Rocks Beach, Maine, with friends and their multi-generational family, and they filled Sundays and holidays with gatherings that created countless happy memories. She is survived by her children, David Kennedy and his wife Sheila of Easthampton, John Kennedy and his wife Sadie of Georgia, Patricia Dion and her husband Michael of Easthampton, and Margaret Kennedy and her fiancé Alan Huot of Easthampton. She was a loving Nana to her five grandchildren, Jake, Hannah, Abbey, Chelsea, and Drew, and a great-grandmother to three. She was also a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews and a true friend to many.

She was predeceased by her husband George in 2010, her brothers Ronald and Neil Pepin, and her sister Ruth Matthews.
