Parrie Foster

Ms. Parrie Foster, 79, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born and raised in Ocala, she spent her entire life in the community she loved. She dedicated many years to childhood development with the Marion County School Board and later operated her own daycare center before retiring. Parrie found deep joy in ministry, reading, working puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Her greatest legacy was her more than fifty years of faithful ministry. She served as a steady pillar of faith in her church, offering spiritual wisdom and guidance to her brothers and sisters in Christ. To her family, she was more than a matriarch; she was a living example of Christ’s love, teaching by the way she lived and leaving a clear path of faith for generations to follow.

She is survived by her four daughters, Cheryl Foster-Williams (Gregory), Candi Dukes (Jerome), Charlotte Foster (Calvin), and Tina Carr; three sons, Vonterrio Smith (Tonya), Travis Foster, and Joseph Rolle (Pamela); grandchildren Cherrelle, Brittany, Portia, Brooke, Raini, Rachel, Whittni, Winston, Christine, Caitlyn, and Joshua; great-grandchildren JaLeah, Antonio Jr., Jordan Jr., Elkanah Jr., Gia, Rylie, Princeton, Legend, Aubri, Alexandria, and Christian; two sisters, Betty Newson and Verona Porter (Clydus); one brother, Roosevelt Overstreet Jr. (Helen); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Parrie was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Willie Foster Jr., whom she loved deeply, her parents Roosevelt and Mariah Overstreet, her sisters Almazine, Patricia, and Geraldine, and her brother George.
