Pamela Swain ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lindsey Chapel on Mar. 5, 2026.Pamela Sue Rader (Swain), 81, of Loudonville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her family on March 4, 2026, finally reunited with her beloved husband, Larry Swain, who passed away in October 1985.Pam was born on October 1, 1944, to Freeman (Pete) Rader and Emma Daubenmire in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated from Loudonville High School in 1962. She married Larry in November of that same year, and they had two children, Kelly (Ron) Fetzer and Kimberly (Sean) VanHorn. She was a stay-at-home mom and local babysitter as her daughters grew up, which was just the start of a long life devoted to caring for others. She also owned and operated The Clothing Corner with her daughter, Kelly, during the late '80s into the early '90s.Being a caregiver at heart, Pam returned to babysitting when her grandkids were born. She raised her family with a lot of humor, wit, and pride, along with unconditional love. She blessed countless others with the same love and attention, serving as the local caregiver to generations of children. Known as "Grams" to many, she had the gift of taking in acquaintances and turning them into family. Her house was always full of people coming and going, being a comfortable, welcoming home to many. You never knew who would be walking through the door for a glass of tea, a quick take of local gossip, or a friendly confidant. No matter what you were going through in life, Grams was there to offer a safe space, a talking-to if you needed it, and a wish for wellness out the door.Pam spent her free time volunteering; her impact on your community was immeasurable. She was a radio personality with her friends, hosting the Hen House on WZLP, where her family never knew what she would share about them on the air. She was the coordinator of Meals on Wheels for over 30 years from 1986 until the program shut down locally in 2020. Pam was also a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a bright light in anyone's life who knew her. She brought laughter, joy, and care to anyone who crossed her path, and she was truly one of a kind, the best of the best. The mark she left on others is indescribable, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community. She survived by her daughters, Kelly (Ron) Fetzer, Kimberly (Sean) VanHorn. Grandchildren, Megan (Andrew) Yoak, Brock (Michelle) VanHorn, Alexis VanHorn, Emma (Adam) Harper, Baylie (Trevor) Badertscher, and her great-grandchildren Deacon, Barrett, Kimber, Brynnlie, Kyler, Kennedy, Avery, and Sutton.
