Pamela K. Higginson

Pamela K. Higginson, 69, of Morton, Illinois, passed away on March 14, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Born on June 23, 1956, in Peoria to Harry and Arlene (McKinnie) Jackson, Pam married Craig Higginson on June 23, 1987, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronald Jackson.

Pam devoted more than 29 years to running a daycare from her home, nurturing and caring for generations of children and their families with patience and warmth. She cherished traveling, especially her relaxing trips to Florida, and found deep joy in attending concerts with her close group of friends—her “tribe of girls”—with whom she shared years of laughter and music. She also loved tending to her flowers and yard, creating a beautiful outdoor space, and spending quiet moments working on jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Craig, of Morton; sons Nicholas (Beth McCabe) Ives of Pekin and Kyle (Ariel Jording) Higginson of Oregon; granddaughter Ella Ives; brothers Michael Jackson of Texas, Richard (Mary) Jackson of Chillicothe, Mark Jackson of Peoria, and Dale (Roseann) Moushon of Florida; and sisters Kathy Johnson of Arkansas, Linda Kauffman of Chillicothe, Vicki (Ric) Watt of Texas, Teresa (Rick) Nixon of Peoria, and Lori Bailey of Florida. Pam’s kindness, dedication, and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
