Pamela Dorish Rigsby, age 47, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on February 24, 2026. Born on April 2, 1978, in Richmond, VA, Pam was the beloved daughter of Andrew James Dorish Sr. and Patricia Wyatt Dorish, both of Mechanicsville, VA.Pam was deeply rooted in Mechanicsville, a community she proudly called home throughout her life. She graduated from Lee Davis High School in 1996, where she was actively involved in team sports, including softball and tennis, and showcased her musical talent as a trumpet player in the school band.Pam was known for her witty humor, heartfelt love, profound integrity, and unconditional kindness and compassion. She found peace and comfort in nature, often watching sunsets, observing the stars, and enjoyed watching wildlife. Her creativity was reflected in a wide range of hobbies and interests, from fast-paced motorsports and performance vehicles to firearms, boating, fishing, and scale modeling, as well as home arts and crafts. Pam also enjoyed quieter activities such as visiting museums, taking nature walks, listening to music, reading, and spending cherished time with friends and family.Her attention to detail, dedication, discipline, humility, and strong work ethic earned her many accolades and loyal friends throughout her rewarding career. Pam's professional journey began at Circuit City and eventually led to co-owning a business with her husband. Ultimately, she found her greatest calling and fulfillment serving the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) analyst with the Virginia State Police.Pam's resilience and unwavering dedication defined both her personal and professional lives, giving her the strength to face her greatest challenge, a 15-year battle with ovarian cancer. She defied many obstacles, serving as a source of hope and a pillar of strength for everyone around her, remaining steadfast, grateful, and ready to tackle adversity with tenacity and perseverance. A true fighter!As she was called home and now shines brightly among the stars, Pam is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years, Steven Paul Rigsby Jr.; her father, Andrew James Dorish Sr.; her mother, Patricia Wyatt Dorish; her brother, Andrew James Dorish Jr.; her cherished pups, Ziggy and Rusty; and many friends and family who supported and loved her.A celebration of life will be held at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with a visitation beginning at 10 AM, followed directly by the memorial service at 11 AM to honor her incredible legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to For the Love of Poodles and Pooches Rescue of Richmond, VA, a 501 (c) (3) dog rescue.
