Pamela A. Scudieri

Glastonbury, CT

Pamela A. Scudieri 1951 - 2026 Pamela A. Scudieri, 74, of Glastonbury, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Daughter of the late Thomas and Theresa (Mayette) Megargee, Pamela was born on April 15, 1951, in Plattsburgh, NY. Pamela attended Central Connecticut State University and earned a master's degree in education. She dedicated nearly half a century to the Glastonbury school system, working as a reading consultant and first-grade teacher for 48 years before retiring. Generations of students credit her with fostering their lifelong love of learning. She loved her students as if they were her own children, and they knew it. She taught long enough to teach children of past students, and she never forgot any of them. In 2009, she met Michael, the love of her life. Together they shared 13 years of marriage filled with live music, dancing, and travel to their favorite coastal destinations. They would return year after year to Bar Harbor, Myrtle Beach, and the Delmarva Peninsula. In her free time, Pam enjoyed reading, horseback riding, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Pamela is survived by her loving husband Michael; their children, Jennifer L. Fiorito and her husband Patrick of Bristol, Melissa A. Dydyn and her husband Damian of Bassett, VA, Jonathan M. Scudieri and his wife Jessica of Ellington, Stephanie M. Merwin and her husband Michael Bates of Washington, DC, and Elizabeth A. Eberly and her husband Benjamin of Avon; 7 grandchildren whom she loved dearly; brothers Michael L. Megargee and his wife Mary of Madison, and Robert L. Megargee and his husband Jonathan Possidente of Los Angeles, CA; and extended family and friends around the world. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas C. Megargee. She is missed. Her memory lives on in countless pages of books read aloud, in brilliant pink winter sunsets, in the smell of lavender on a summer day, and in every glass of perfectly cold ice water. Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. in Manchester, for a visitation on Friday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral home service will take place on Saturday, March 14, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) at pancan.org . For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com .
