Born on November 3, 1938, in Seguin, Texas, to Helmuth John Paul Harborth and Lethie Leona Meyer Harborth, she lived a life marked by generous spirit, unwavering dedication to her family, and a readiness to offer support to all those around her.

She was a devoted wife to Michael Manning, Sr. for more than 70 years and a loving mother to Deborah (Paul Michael) Culbertson and Michael (Melody Ann) Manning, Jr. Her love reached far beyond her immediate family to her sister Lillian Margrett Harborth, her six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and the many others whose lives she touched with quiet kindness. She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Thomas Manning, her brothers Abou Henry (Grace Kathryn) Harborth, Adolph Charles (Opal Allie) Harborth, and Daniel Arthur (Vera Rae) Harborth, her sister Athea Julia Harborth (Edward Bruce) Stevens, and her brother-in-law Jack Allen Achilles.

Ottilia’s legacy rests in the depth of her impact and the enduring affection she inspired in those who knew her. She will be remembered with gratitude by her family and all whose lives were brightened by her warmth, compassion, and gentle strength.
