Ophelia Brown, age 91, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.

Born on April 30, 1934, in Scottsboro, Tennessee, to Wilks and Callie Underwood, Ophelia lived a life marked by quiet dedication and simple joys. Early in her career she worked as a caregiver at Davidson County Hospital, later devoting herself to hospice care. She also held several positions in the hospitality industry. She took great pleasure in tending her rosebushes and was known among family and friends for her love of fishing. A longtime member of Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ for more than thirty years, she found deep comfort in her faith.

Ophelia was married to her husband, George Brown, for more than fifty years. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Markum and Margaret Williams; her son, Charles Brown; her grandson, John Williams; and her siblings. She is survived by her sons-in-law, William Markum and Johnny Williams; her grandchildren, Charles (Hayley) Flynn, Tonya (Matt) Stewart, James (Angie) Flynn, Chris (Jessica) Williams, and Callie (Stephen) Perry; nine great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
