Ollie Snapp known affectionately as "Mother or Mother Snapp" went home to be with the Lord on February 26,2026 with her loving family by her side. Mother was the daughter of the Late Rev. James Chance and the Late Estelle Chance.

Mother was educated in the Jenkins Kentucky's school system.

Mother met and married her husband Thomas Snapp in Knoxville, Tennessee and of this union they had 4 children, Jacqueline, Sharon, Cynthia and Thomas Jr.

Mother eventually moved to Boston, Mass where she raised her children.

Mother accepted Christ at a very early age and held strong in her faith. She was a member of Southern Baptist Church in Roxbury, Mass for many years, where her father Rev. James Chance was the Pastor until his retirement in 1983. Mother wore many "hats" in the church such as a Missionary and the Youth Choir Director. She also sang in the church choir and was part of the "Chance Sisters Gospel Group" and the "Gospel Echos".

Mother was a member of the Antioch Church in Boston, Mass, however her heart always belonged to Southern Baptist and she returned to her home church.

Everyone who knew Mother, knew her home was always open to anyone who needed a meal, somewhere to stay, an ear to listen or arms to embrace them.

Mother loved her plants and flowers. You would always hear her telling someone " Give me my flowers while I can see and smell them while I'm alive" and people made sure they did! Mother loved to cook and bake especially her sweet potato pies and we all enjoyed her food!
