Ok Son King

Ok Son King, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Columbia, Maryland. Born on November 24, 1948, in Jeon Ju, South Korea, to Bok Yeu and Pal Yeong Lee, she was one of nine children.

In 1979, Sonny married David Bruce King and shared 42 happy years with him. Their married life began in South Korea while David served with the United States Army, and it was there that their son, Joshua Brian, was born. As a devoted wife, Sonny supported her husband through his many travel assignments during his army career. She was a proud and loving mother to Joshua, and together she and David created a home grounded in faith and love.

Sonny worked in the food service industry, where her warm and friendly spirit was often recognized. Above all, she was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in cooking, gardening, and making a beautiful home for her family. She loved to travel, to walk in nature, and to spend time with her church family. Through every season of life, her belief in God’s love remained steadfast.

Sonny was predeceased by her husband David, her son Joshua, her parents, and three of her siblings. She is survived by her sisters, Ok Ju Lee and Sun Ok Lee; her brothers, Sung Gun Lee, Sug Geon Lee, and Kook Hwan Lee; her brother-in-law, Glenn W. King; her sister-in-law, Paula Nurthen; and many nieces and nephews.
