Odessie Gilliland Anders

Odessie Gilliland Anders, age 86, of Northport, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Anders; her parents, Auburn and Ozella Gilliland; her sisters, Ruth McMichael, Ruby Perrigin, and Viola McAteer; her nephew, Ricky McMichael; and her great-grandson, Clayton Hartley.

Odessie is survived by her son, Mike Anders and his wife Kathy; her daughter, Lisa Whitcomb and her husband Danny; her nephew, Steve Perrigin; great-nephews Matt and Michael Perrigin; great-niece Balea Perrigin; grandsons James and John Hartley; and great-granddaughter Mayci Hartley.

A woman of deep faith, Odessie served her Lord, her church, and her community with quiet devotion. She was known for reaching out with love, care, and food to anyone who was sick or in need, always among the first to offer help to her neighbors in the Brownville and Moore’s Bridge communities.
