Odelia Chavez

Odelia Chavez, age 77, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and follower of Christ, went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2026. Her life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, kindness, and unconditional love. She lived by the words of II Timothy 4:7 and found deep comfort in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She is now reunited in Heaven with her son, Gabriel Chavez, and her parents, Frank and Rita Luna.

She is survived by the love of her life, Larry Chavez, her husband of 58 years. She also leaves behind her only daughter, Angela Gabaldon, and son-in-law, Zeke Gabaldon, along with their children Jasmine, Chris, Kathryn, Ashlynn, and Geriah, and great-granddaughters Aizlynn and Layla. Odelia’s legacy lives on through her family, whom she taught to love the Lord.

She will be remembered as the heart of her family. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth, stories, and the aroma of her home-cooked meals. She loved gardening in the yard alongside her husband and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Odelia taught those around her the value of patience, kindness, and laughter. She cared deeply for others, was always ready to help anyone in need, and faced life with a steadfastly positive outlook rooted in her love for her Lord and Savior.
