He is survived by: his wife Sarah Penny; his pet Oliver; his brother Thomas Penny (Gladys); and his sibling's children, Rhonda Light, Michelle Best (Brandon), Jason Penny, Phillip Penny and Nelson Penny. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home (1300 4th Ave N, Bessemer, AL 35020). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
