Norris Alvin Baldwin

March 21, 1938 March 6, 2026

Taylor, AZ

Norris Alvin Baldwin, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on March 21, 1938, in Taylor, Arizona—the town he loved and served throughout his life—Norris lived a life centered on faith, family, and service.

He married the love of his life, Fawnette Black Baldwin, and together they built a strong and devoted family. He was the proud father of Fawne Baldwin Jones (Rob), Michelle Baldwin Reidhead (John), Claire Baldwin Romero (Armando), Kristi Baldwin Olson (Randy), Tanya Baldwin Adams (Jaren), Rachel Baldwin Platt (Cyrus), Sharee Baldwin Sanderson (Franklin), and Alma Ortiz Romney (Haven). He was preceded in death by his son, Norris Alvin Baldwin Jr. (Ruthann), and by his parents, Perry Alvin Baldwin and Jessie Shumway Baldwin. He was blessed with 42 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy. He was happiest when surrounded by family, whether watching games at the ball fields, cheering on the Snowflake Lobos, or spending time together on the family farm with his cows.

As a young man, Norris served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States Mission, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to faith and service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated much of his life to his community as Mayor of Taylor and as a respected CPA through Norris Baldwin CPA. He served as President of the Rotary Club, Chairman of the Navapache Regional Medical Center Board, and Chairman of the Silver Creek Performing Arts Board. His dedication to the Boy Scouts of America earned him the Silver Beaver Award.

His faith remained the center of his life. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served faithfully as Bishop, Stake President, and Temple President. Later in life, he and Fawnette served together as leaders and coordinators of humanitarian missions, overseeing welfare and humanitarian efforts in seven different countries. Norris will be remembered for his steady leadership, his deep love for his family, and his quiet willingness to serve wherever he was needed. His example of faith, hard work, and devotion to others leaves a lasting legacy in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
