Norman S. “Chip” Wood, Jr., 82, of Northbridge, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Petrocelli) Wood.

Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Norman S. Wood, Sr. and Beatrice (Wood) Wood. Raised and educated in Upton, he attended Northbridge schools and graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School. Chip proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1961 to 1964, attaining the rank of Corporal. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a machinist at Lentros Engineering for 39 years.

Chip enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his beloved Boston Red Sox, and taking frequent trips to visit his children and their families in Arizona and California. He cherished spending time with family and friends, and in his younger years, he and his family spent many summers at his parents’ cottage in New Hampshire.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his children, Anthony “Tony” Wood of Mesa, AZ, Thomas Wood and his wife Dolores of Chula Vista, CA, Christopher Wood of Cumberland, RI, William “Bill” Satkauskas of Northbridge, and Kerri Nealley of Upton; his grandchildren, Kyle, Nicole, Ryan, Ashley, Benjamin, Aaron, Chelsea, Thomas, Michael, Nathan, Evan, Taylor, Tom, Emerson, Jack, and Blaire; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Sarah Nattinville of Garland, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, James Wood, and his stepson, Louis Satkauskas.
