Norman Robert “Nick” Nicholas, 87, of Orange City, Florida, passed away on March 15, 2026. Born on May 17, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Jack and Colette (McCulloch) Nicholas, Nick spent many happy years in central Florida after moving there in the 1990s. A man of deep Catholic faith, he was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and several engineering and logistics organizations. He served with pride for eight years in the United States Navy Reserves and built a career as an Aerospace Engineer.
Nick found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being on his boat, playing golf, tinkering around the house, and carefully building model ships. Those who knew him will always remember his easygoing and kind nature. He had a warmth that lit up any room he entered and was deeply loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pollyann Nicholas; his daughter, Mary (Frank) Diego; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Jack and Jan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marian.
