Norman Edwin Horne, 85, of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 13, 2026, following a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Born on December 9, 1940, in Dublin Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Richard P. and Mary S. (McMullen) Horne.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda J. Horne; two sons, Michael T. Horne and his wife Staci of Bangor, Pennsylvania, and James R. Horne and his wife Rebekah of Farmington, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Noah, Evan, Liam, Ryah, Katie (Caleb), Josiah (Ellie), and Samuel; and two great-grandchildren, Judah and Zebulun, with another expected soon. He is also survived by one brother, Donald E. Horne and his wife Sandy; three sisters-in-law, Ella Grace Smith, Barbara Welch, and Laura Welch; one brother-in-law, Benny Welch; and many nieces and nephews.
Norman faithfully attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Orbisonia. He worked for Henkels & McCoy and as a lineman for United Telephone (Sprint) of Mifflintown before retiring 28 years ago. He loved farming, hunting, attending auctions, and spending time with family and friends. Known for his warm nature, he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Chester, Russell, Charles, Raymond, Clyde, Clarence, and Earl D. Horne; three sisters, Hazel Horne, Stella Scott, and Lena Shields; and two great-grandchildren, Stephen and Cassidy Cox.
