Norma Ruth Ames

Norma Ruth Ames, 85, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Bartlesville. Born on June 17, 1940, in Mexia, Texas, to Rex Rook Kimbrough and Lula Mae Dyess Kimbrough, Norma carried a deep sense of family and compassion throughout her life.

She devoted her career to caring for others, earning her nursing degree and serving as a Registered Nurse at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville. With dedication and kindness, she supported countless patients and their families. On April 17, 1976, she married Oscar Lenard Ames, Sr., and they shared many years together until his passing. In her free time, Norma found joy in lace making and quilting, crafting beautiful handmade pieces for those she loved. She also cherished playing the domino game “42,” sharing laughter and friendly competition with family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lenard Ames, Sr., her parents Rex and Lula Kimbrough, her daughter Kim Greenlee Norton, and her sister Shari Lyn Herschberger. She is survived by her daughters Susan (Greenlee) Reber and Sherry (Greenlee) Wetzel and husband Larry, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
