Vortman, 94, of Bluffs passed away Thursday, Mar. 5, 2026, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. She was born, Aug. 19, 1931, in Meredosia, the daughter of Archie and Louise Little Brockhouse. She married LeRoy J. "Hap" Vortman, Feb. 27, 1955.Surviving is husband, Hap of Bluffs; daughters, Melissa (Reg) Barnett of Bluffs and Annette Garrett of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren Andy (Eryn Lipcaman) Hearold, Lauren Hearold, Alex Barnett, Alicia Lackey and Elizabeth Lackey; 8 great grandchildren, Mason Barnett, Lucas, Elle, Penelope and Ilya Hearold, Lexie Heim and Jason and Jaxon Draggs; sister, Joan (Dean) Besaw and brother, Archie (Poune) Brockhouse Jr. both of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by daughter, Melinda Sue Vortman; sister, Doris (Virgil) Huseman; sisters-in-law, Connie and Jan Brockhouse and brother-in-law, Paul (Melba) Welch.Norma graduated from Brown County High School in 1949. She worked as a Registered Medical Secretary at the Bone-Scott Clinic prior to marriage. Norma was a member of Bluffs Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school and Bible teacher. She enjoyed Bible study, reading, story writing and winters in Phoenix, AZ with her husband.A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, Mar. 9, 2026, at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville with interment in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
