March 7, 1930— March 5, 2026
Lancaster, PA
Norma Jean Trissel passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Born on March 7, 1930, in Canton, Ohio, to Peter and Julia Repasky, she grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.
Norma graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1947, where she was remembered fondly by her friends as sweet, swell, and tops. She went on to attend Kent State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. It was there that she met her husband, Robert Henry Trissel. The couple shared 59 years of marriage and raised six children together.
A devoted stay-at-home mother during the 1960s, Norma later worked part-time in a variety of positions. She found great joy in time spent with family and friends. Her passions included swing dancing, crafting, gardening, and sewing. She was known as a formidable Gin Rummy player and could complete a 1000-piece puzzle with remarkable speed. Norma traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, accompanying her husband during his career with Westinghouse International. Her deep Catholic faith remained a guiding force throughout her life, evident in her active commitment to her church community.
In her final five years at the Glen at Willow Valley, Norma’s sweet disposition endeared her to the staff who cared for her with great kindness. She is survived by her children, Thomas Trissel, Susan Greig, Patricia Cleveland (Robert), Charles Trissel (Cathy), Mary Wolfe (Scott), and Ann Heid, along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
