Norma Jean Buck, 95, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on March 13, 2026.

Born on January 31, 1931 in Rossville, Indiana, Norma Jean was the daughter of Dale and Eva Gaylor. She married the love of her life, Phil Buck, on April 6, 1950, and the two shared sixty-eight memorable years together until his passing in 2018. Their marriage stood as a testament to deep love, partnership, and unwavering commitment. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Norma Jean took great pride in supporting her husband throughout his teaching and coaching career, earning a reputation as the perfect coach’s wife who stood faithfully by his side.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phil Buck; her parents, Dale and Eva Gaylor; her brother, Don Gaylor; and her grandson-in-law, Craig Brunnemer.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Vicki) Buck and Joe (Connie) Buck; her grandchildren, Keri Brunnemer, Morgan (Sean) Rooney, Megan (Mike) Bouvat, and Whitney Buck; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Payton and Hailee Brunnemer, Maddox and Elliot Rooney, and Michael and Max Bouvat; and numerous nieces and nephews. A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Pendleton, Norma Jean will be remembered for her quiet faith and strength, her steadfast devotion to family, and the gentle love she shared with all who knew her.
